Profile visibility

Your headline privacy choice is who can view your profile:

  • Public — anyone can view it.
  • Members Only — only signed-in WABA members.
  • Private — only you can view it.

Web: Open your avatar menu → Account Settings → Privacy, pick from the Profile Visibility dropdown, then click Save Privacy Settings.
Mobile: My Account → Privacy → tap your choice under Profile Visibility. Mobile saves automatically as you change things.

What your profile reveals

Individual switches control specific details:

  • Show Location — whether your city and state appear on your profile (web and mobile).
  • Show Email — whether your email is visible (mobile).
  • Show Activity Status — whether others can see when you're online (mobile).

Your own profile page also shows a Privacy & Visibility summary card, so you can spot-check what's exposed at a glance.

Who can contact you

Under Interactions in the mobile app's Privacy settings:

  • Allow Friend Requests — turn off to stop new friend requests.
  • Allow Messages — controls whether others can send you direct messages.

For individuals rather than everyone, blocking is the tool — see the friends guide.

Your data

  • Web: the Privacy tab has Data Collection (usage data to improve your experience) and Analytics Tracking (analytics to improve platform performance). Both stay off unless you turn them on and save.
  • Mobile: Analytics & Improvements is the same setting as web Analytics Tracking.
  • Marketing Emails can be switched off on the web Notifications tab (and with Promotional Emails in the mobile notification settings).
  • Want a copy of everything? See the guide on exporting your data.
  • Feeling tangled? Mobile has a Reset to Defaults button that restores standard privacy settings after you confirm.
