Community guidelines

A community worth protecting.

These guidelines are the standards every member agrees to, and how we enforce them. Effective June 11, 2026.

Our commitment

WABA has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Content that violates these guidelines is removed, and accounts that post it are suspended.

WABA exists to celebrate and strengthen Black-owned businesses and the community around them. Everything you post — wall posts, comments, messages, reviews, events, and profiles — must meet the standards below.

What's not allowed

The following content and behavior will be removed and may result in immediate account suspension:

  • Harassment, bullying, or threats directed at any person or group.
  • Hate speech, slurs, or symbols that attack people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic.
  • Sexually explicit or pornographic content.
  • Violence, glorification of violence, or content that encourages self-harm.
  • Spam, scams, fraudulent offers, or deceptive practices.
  • False information presented to mislead or defraud the community.
  • Impersonation of another person, business, or organization.
  • Content that violates any applicable law, including intellectual property rights.

Reporting content

Every piece of user-generated content in the WABA app — posts, comments, messages, reviews, events, businesses, and profiles — can be reported from the app itself. Look for the report option in the ··· menu or long-press a message.

24-hour review
Our moderation team reviews every report within 24 hours and removes content that violates these guidelines.
Automatic safeguards
Content reported by multiple community members is automatically hidden while it awaits review, and an automated filter blocks the most serious content before it is ever posted.
Confidentiality
Reports are confidential. The person you report is not told who reported them.

Blocking users

You can block any user from their profile or from a conversation. Blocked users can't message you, see your profile or posts, or send you friend requests. Manage your blocked list anytime in Settings → Blocked Users.

Enforcement

When content is reported or flagged by our filters, we act in this order:

  • Violating content is removed from the platform.
  • Repeat or severe offenders have their accounts suspended.
  • Suspended accounts lose access immediately, across all devices.
  • Illegal content is reported to the appropriate authorities.

Appeals

If your content was removed or your account was suspended and you believe we made a mistake, contact our support team. Include the email address on your account and a description of what happened. We review every appeal.
