Deleting Your Account

How to delete your WABA account, what's erased or anonymized right away, and what's purged within 90 days.

Settings & Privacy/delete-accountSecuritySettingsScreen

Before you go

Deletion can't be undone from your side. Two things worth doing first:

  1. Export your data. Grab a copy of everything — see the guide on exporting your data.
  2. Spend your points. Rewards points and history don't survive deletion.

If your issue is noise rather than the platform, consider dialing back notifications or tightening privacy settings instead.

Deleting on the web

  1. Sign in and go to Settings → Security.
  2. Scroll to the Delete Account card and click Delete Account.
  3. In the dialog, enter your password under Confirm Password (Google and Apple accounts skip this) and optionally add a Reason for Leaving.
  4. Click Delete Account. You'll see "Account deleted successfully" and be signed out.

Deleting on mobile

  1. Open My Account → Security and scroll to the Danger Zone.
  2. Tap Delete Account. A warning explains what happens.
  3. Confirm your identity: enter your password, or if you signed in with Google or Apple, type DELETE into the confirmation field.
  4. Optionally add a reason, then tap Permanently Delete Account.

Note: If you used Sign in with Apple, finish by removing WABA from Sign in with Apple in your Apple ID settings.

What happens to your data

Right away: you can no longer sign in, all your sessions and sign-in methods are revoked, and your profile details (name, bio, photos, contact email, preferences) are erased. Reviews, comments, community posts, and messages others received stay visible, but are shown as from "Deleted User".

Within 90 days: your favorites, notifications, rewards points and history, event RSVPs, AI chat history, uploads, and friendships are purged. A minimal archive kept for fraud prevention and auditing is purged on the same timeline.

Note: If you manage a claimed business listing, the listing isn't deleted — it's handed to another member of its team or left without an owner.
