Creating an Account & Signing In

Join WABA with your email, Google, or Apple account, and learn how signing in works on the web and in the mobile app.

Account & Profile/sign-upSignUpScreen

Why create an account?

You can browse the directory without an account, but signing up unlocks the parts of WABA that make it a community: saving favorite businesses, writing reviews, adding friends, joining Conversations, booking events, sending messages, and earning rewards points.

Mobile: If you just want to look around first, tap Continue without an account on the sign-in screen to browse as a guest. You can create an account any time later.

Sign up on the web

  1. Go to the sign-up page. First you'll choose your account type under Choose Your Account Type — pick Continue as Consumer to join as a member. (Continue as Business is for owners registering a business.)
  2. On Create Your Account, enter your Full Name, Email, and a Password. Passwords need at least 8 characters, including an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, and a number.
  3. Check the box agreeing to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The Create Account button — and Sign up with Google under "Or continue with" — stay disabled until you do.
  4. Click Create Account, or use Sign up with Google to skip the password entirely. You're signed in straight away ("Account created successfully!") and taken to onboarding.

Note: We send a verification email to your address — see the guide on verifying your email.

If a friend shared a referral link with you, sign up through that link so they get credit — the referral code is picked up automatically, even if you choose Google.

Sign up in the mobile app

  1. Open the app and tap Sign up on the sign-in screen.
  2. Enter your Full Name, Email, Password, and Confirm Password. Passwords need at least 8 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, and a number.
  3. Check the box agreeing to the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Community Guidelines.
  4. Tap Create Account. You'll see "Account created! Please sign in." — enter your new email and password on the sign-in screen to get started.

Mobile: You can also use Sign in with Google, or Sign in with Apple on iPhone and iPad. These sign you in immediately with no separate password step. Referral links work on the web sign-up only.

Signing in

Enter your Email and Password and press Sign in (web) or Sign In (mobile). On the web, members land in the Directory (or back on the page that asked you to sign in); on mobile you'll land on the home screen. If you haven't finished onboarding, the web offers Continue onboarding.

If your account has two-factor authentication turned on, you'll confirm an emailed code after your password:

Web: On Two-Factor Authentication, click Send Verification Code, type or paste the 6-digit code into the six boxes, and click Verify Code. Optionally check Remember this device for 30 days so you're not asked again on this browser.

Mobile: The Check your email screen sends the code automatically. Enter the six-digit code and tap Verify and continue, or Send a new code if it didn't arrive.

Note: Codes expire after 10 minutes, and too many failed attempts locks the account temporarily for 15 minutes. On the web, Resend Code has a short 30-second cooldown.

Forgot your password?

  1. On the sign-in screen, click Forgot password? (web) or Forgot your password? (mobile).
  2. Enter your email and press Send reset instructions (web) or Send Reset Link (mobile).
  3. Check your inbox — the reset link expires in 1 hour.
  4. Follow the link, enter a New Password and Confirm New Password, then click Update Password. When you see Password Reset Complete!, click Continue to Sign In.

Note: For your security, the reset email is sent only if an account exists for that address — you'll see the same confirmation either way.
